History

Align360 was created on February 26, 2001 when employees of Renaissance Worldwide's division of the same name successfully completed a buyout from the parent company. Though this marked the official creation of the separate legal entity, Align360 as an organization had in fact already existed-and indeed flourished-for nearly 10 years prior. The employee buyout simply returned the leadership of the company to Richmond, Virginia where it was started by the current CEO and President/COO.

In 1992, the original organization, McClain Group, Inc., was formed with the goal of providing world-class IT project management and technology assessment services. The business concentrated on addressing needs in two key practice areas: Insurance and Banking.

During its formative years, the firm experienced revenue growth of 1,258% as it built a strong reputation in the marketplace for efficient and innovative solutions to complex business and technology issues. In 1996, the first year of eligibility, this growth landed McClain Group #176 on Inc. magazine's list of America's 500 fastest-growing private companies.

In July 1997, McClain Group became part of what was then Renaissance Worldwide, Inc., now Aquent, Inc. (www.aquent.com). The principals of McClain Group stayed on and managed the business unit autonomously from 1997 until the buyout in 2001. During the time with Renaissance, the group continued its exceptional revenue growth, more than tripling in size while maintaining industry leading levels of profitability. In February, 2001, management and employees repurchased the organization from Renaissance and created Align360.

In July 2003, Align360 was acquired by Appix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advanced Technology Systems, Inc. To this day, Align360 remains focused on its two principal industries, having grown the breadth and depth in each. The original members of the management team persist in providing experienced leadership, and each employee, continues to be committed to 100% client satisfaction.
